Senior Android Software Engineering Manager

Role Summary:

As a Software Engineering Manager, Android Developer Experience, you will oversee the development of Google's flagship products, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and coherence. This role requires a deep understanding of Android app development, technical leadership, and people management.

Responsibilities:

  • Set and communicate team priorities to support the broader organization's goals.
  • Align strategy, processes, and decision-making across teams.
  • Develop the mid-term technical vision and roadmap within the scope of your team(s).
  • Design, guide, and vet systems designs within the scope of the broader area, and write product or system development code to solve ambiguous problems.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role, overseeing strategic projects, with 2 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role.
  • 3 years of experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure or distributed systems.
  • Experience in Machine Learning or Artificial Intelligence.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization.
  • Experience architecting and developing software or infrastructure for scalable, high-performance, distributed systems.
