Job Title: Principal Cloud Operations Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Cloud Operations Engineer to join our Oracle OCI Compute Team. As a Technical Leader, you will be responsible for solving complex problems related to infrastructure cloud services, handling customer incident tickets, and deploying software in test or production systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Solve complex problems related to infrastructure cloud services
  • Handle customer incident tickets and/or deploy software in test or production systems
  • Perform testing on test systems or production systems
  • Help manage Oracle standards and methods for large-scale distributed systems
  • Partner with development teams to meet SLA and unblock customers
  • Articulate technical characteristics of services and technology areas and guide Development Teams to engineer and add premier capabilities to the Oracle Cloud service portfolio

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of major scripting languages (python/bash/java), Linux/Unix systems and commands, databases, applications, tools, networks
  • Experience running large scale customer facing web services
  • Identifies solutions to understanding of load balancing technologies and experience with databases and big data stores, and container technologies
  • Work involves defining and documenting technical architecture of complex and highly scalable products
  • BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area
  • 1-5+ years of operation engineering or related experience
