Key Responsibilities- Network Design and Implementation: Design and implement network architecture to meet business requirements, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
- Network Monitoring and Maintenance: Monitor network performance, identify and troubleshoot issues, and perform regular maintenance tasks to ensure optimal network operation.
- Capacity Planning: Conduct regular capacity planning to ensure network performance meets business needs, and work with carriers to adjust capacity as required.
- Internet Access and Security: Install, configure, and maintain routers and firewalls, configure routing protocols, and monitor internet access performance.
- Troubleshooting and Support: Troubleshoot network problems, provide tier 2 support, and ensure all issues are resolved according to published service levels.
- Documentation and Communication: Maintain technical configuration documents, review and update processes and procedures, and provide weekly updates on work activity to the Manager, Network Operations.
- Project Collaboration: Participate in project teams, working with Infrastructure teams and Network Engineers/Architects to develop detailed plans for implementation.
- Customer Interaction: Work with internal and external customers to convert requirements into actionable change requests for implementation.
- Technical Skills: Functional knowledge of networking and data communication fundamentals, including Ethernet and routing protocols (TCP/IP, Routing Protocols, etc.).
- Network Management Tools: Hands-on experience with Cisco SD-WAN solution, Cloud networking principles in Azure and AWS, and network management tools like Fortimanager, NetBrain, and SolarWinds.
- Education and Certifications: University degree or college diploma in computer studies or equivalent experience, and Cisco certification a bonus.
- Experience and Competencies: 5+ years hands-on experience, functional planning ability, problem-solving/troubleshooting abilities, technical oral and written communication skills, customer relations skills, organizational skills, and adaptability/flexibility.
This is a full-time position with occasional on-call duties and occasional travel may be necessary. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for network infrastructure and a commitment to delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.
