Reporting To: Regional Project Engineer

Role Overview:

The Project Engineer will oversee significant engineering initiatives at the country level, managing the entire process from technical specifications through to installation and ramp-up. Key responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring the capital expenditure budget for assigned projects within the plant or region.
  • Collaborating with local Manufacturing & Engineering teams to ensure the effective management of company assets throughout their lifecycle.
  • Formulating technical solutions aimed at enhancing production efficiency or reducing operational costs through continuous improvement methodologies.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Regional Project Engineer in gathering requests from assigned factories and distilleries to develop the capital expenditure budget and strategic plan.
  • Support factories and distilleries in transforming ideas into executable projects that enhance key performance indicators such as yield, energy efficiency, and production capacity.
  • Monitor capital expenditures and project timelines to prevent delays and ensure timely delivery of results.
  • Prepare technical specifications for new equipment or significant modifications.
  • Evaluate supplier proposals from a technical standpoint and assist in the selection process.
  • Directly manage high-capital projects that contribute to plant capacity growth and equipment upgrades.
  • Collaborate with Plant Engineering & Maintenance teams to specify, install, and maintain new or modified equipment.
  • Implement asset maintenance strategies, including preventive and predictive maintenance approaches.
  • Facilitate training and the adoption of standard engineering KPIs, processes, and methodologies.

Qualifications:

  • Engineering degree.
  • Experience in the Food & Beverage industry is preferred.
  • Fluency in Spanish and English.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Ability to manage capital expenditure budgets and analyze maintenance expense reports.
  • Strong project management skills and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Proficient in problem-solving techniques and lean manufacturing principles.
  • Knowledge of key performance indicators such as OEE and yield.
  • Effective communication and motivational skills.
  • Understanding of safety regulations and risk assessment methodologies.
