The Packaging Design Specialist supports New Product Development and product sustaining tasks for the company's Global Rack & Edge Thermal products.
Key Responsibilities
- Provides technical support and manages the packaging development process, including creation of packaging designs, prototype development, specification, and testing.
- Develops alternative design concept prototypes and CAD drawings using design software.
- Coordinates the development and verification of ISTA testing of alternative designs.
- Creates and updates BOMs, submits engineering change requests, and releases revised designs in Oracle PLM cloud.
- Understands products, suggesting ideas and improvements related to design that optimize for packaging and overall cost.
Requirements
- 1-3 years of engineering product development or support experience.
- Packaging design experience.
- Working knowledge of test standards and test-methods.
- Ability to follow, create, and organize testing and instructional procedures.
- Basic mechanical CAD tools experience in CREO is a plus.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to solve and prevent a wide range of problems quickly and logically.
- Excellent planning, organizing, documentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and operate in cross-functional Global Development Teams.
- Proficient in English.
