We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Manufacturing Engineer Project Manager to join our team at Fastenal Mexico. As a key member of our Lean Solutions department, you will be responsible for developing and implementing process improvements to drive quality and productivity in our manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate existing manufacturing processes and identify areas for improvement to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
- Determine problem resolutions and implement improvements to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
- Develop detailed layouts for equipment, processes, and workflow to optimize production capacity.
- Research and develop new processes, equipment, and products to stay ahead of industry trends.
- Develop and implement cost-saving measures and quality control systems to drive business growth.
- Ensure manufacturing processes, equipment, and products comply with safety standards and legal regulations.
- Maintain research and activity documentation and prepare reports to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
- Resource management and allocation: Understand what resources are needed for the given scope and ensure the right resources are being allocated for each project.
- Coordinate with Strategic Accounts, District Manager, other Lean Solutions members, support teams involved, customer Champion and customer resources assigned to the project.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Perform predictive ROA's to identify areas for improvement.
- Analyze raw data and translate information into a detailed plan to drive business growth.
- Create, understand, analyze and propose productive process improvements.
- Create, follow up and complete project tracking documents (Gantt Charts, PFEP, Flow Charts, SOP, Lockdown, Completion, Audits, Weekly updates, etc.) to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
- Tracking initial sales ramp up performance to targets.
- Perform Retention audit and present next business opportunity.
Requirements:
- Strong organization, planning, and prioritizing abilities.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Spanish.
- Ability to present ideas in a formal presentation or in a written proposal.
- Strong problem-solving and deductive reasoning skills.
- Highly motivated, self-directed, and customer service-oriented.
- Ability to work alone as well as in a team environment.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- A valid driver's license and the ability to meet our driving record requirements.
- Valid Visa and Passport.
- Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in Sales or Management.
- Degree in manufacturing, industrial required.
- 2+ years of experience in manufacturing or industrial engineering preferred.
- Experience evaluating and troubleshooting manufacturing processes and machinery.
- Successful GM, SA Sales or Specialty Sales experience.
- Prior Lean Six Sigma experience.
- Prior Project Management experience.
- Prior experience managing VMI's.
