The Associated Press, a renowned global news organization dedicated to factual reporting, seeks a skilled professional to join its Workflow Solutions team. Founded in 1846, AP remains the most trusted source of fast, accurate, unbiased news in all formats and provides essential technology and services to the news industry.

This role is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to provide technical support and implementation services to media companies utilizing AP-licensed software. Based in Mexico or Colombia, this position will work closely with clients across North, Central, and South America to ensure seamless integration and efficient use of our systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver on-site, telephone, and remote support for television, radio, online, and network newsroom systems, including ENPS, AP Storytelling, ENPS Mobile, and add-ons.
  • Provide comprehensive training to users of our software and systems, ensuring they can effectively utilize our solutions.
  • Log, test, and resolve customer issues, collaborating with development and support groups as needed.
  • Troubleshoot software and systems problems with the Support, Product, and Technology Solutions teams.
  • Deploy software to users' environments and migrate servers for seamless transitions.
  • Support sales and marketing efforts by providing technical expertise to clients on-site and remotely.
  • Ambitious travel may be required, and participation in an on-call rotation outside regular working hours is mandatory.

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • Possess strong organizational skills, self-motivation, and teamwork abilities, enabling effective work without direct supervision.
  • Showcase leadership capabilities during training sessions for technical and non-technical customers.
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of news production systems and workflows, with AP ENPS experience being highly beneficial.
  • Show evidence of software support or technical support experience, with knowledge of issue identification, investigation, and resolution techniques.
  • Display proficiency in PC and Mac operation, Microsoft Windows, and cloud computing.
  • Hold a university degree in journalism, computer sciences, or a related field, or possess additional relevant work experience.
  • Exhibit expertise in newsroom control systems and advanced personal computer skills.
  • Candidates should have advanced-level competency in written and spoken English and Spanish, with any additional language skills being advantageous.
  • Must have authorization to work in Mexico or Colombia for any employer and be able to obtain a visa to travel and work temporarily in the United States.

The estimated salary for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 annually, depending on qualifications and location. Employees are eligible for a comprehensive benefits package offered to AP staff in the country where they are based.
