Key Responsibilities:

• Develop local accident and injury prevention plans and programs.
• Schedule and present training/orientation programs.
• Hold monthly employee/driver safety meetings.
• Stay up-to-date on local labor market, processes and policies related to drivers.
• Manage driver hours to minimize overtime while maintaining established customer service and delivery metrics.
• Audit and monitor the results of background checks, conduct road tests for drivers, and provide appropriate training as needed.
• Ensure compliance with all company, customer, OSHA and DOT regulations, policies and procedures.
• Conduct, review, and document facility safety inspections and assist in the correction of deficiencies.
• Investigate vehicle accidents and employee injuries. Prepare and submit related reports as required.

Requirements:

• 3 to 5 years in security and training (transportation industry is a must).
• Previous experience in driver training, safety and compliance.
• Safety driven with expertise in HOS, DOT regulations and driver welfare.
• At least three years of truck driving experience will be valued.
• You must have a solid understanding of the trucking industry.
• Excellent communication skills.
