About the Role

Citi is seeking an experienced Senior Fraud Risk Expert to join its Retail Services team. As a key member of this team, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing effective fraud detection and prevention strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive fraud risk management plans to mitigate losses while ensuring an optimal balance between risk and customer experience.
  • Proactively identify and address fraud detection issues at the strategic and portfolio levels, providing analytical and modeling solutions to support business decisions.
  • Leverage customer data to build robust risk segmentation and mitigation strategies, driving business growth while minimizing risk exposure.
  • Evaluate new tools and products to enhance risk detection and prevention capabilities, collaborating with internal and external partners to drive innovation.
  • Serve as the primary interface with internal and external stakeholders to evaluate new tools and build detection and analytical capabilities.
  • Collaborate with Policy, Operations, and other functional business partners to optimize business strategies, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
  • Ensure adherence to strict audit and control requirements, participating in audit-related activities and supporting the Citi Retail Services Fraud Analytics Team Lead with completion of audit and compliance tasks.

Requirements:

  • 5-8 years of experience in credit cards or a related field, with a strong background in statistical analysis and working knowledge of statistical software packages such as SAS/SQL (preferred), SPSS, or equivalent.
  • 4+ years of analytical and data mining experience, preferably in a similar role.
  • Bachelor's/University degree or equivalent experience.
  • Fraud experience is desirable, digital experience is a plus.
  • Fluent English language skills, intermediate to advanced level.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in SQL, SAS, Python, or any other programming language.
  • High-level analytical research and investigative skills, including experience with background checks, intelligence, customer research, and transactional analysis.
  • High level of analytical skills and complex problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience in risk assessments or controls in Consumer Businesses.
  • Ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure environment.
