Position Overview

The Global Inventory Management Lead will oversee the formulation and implementation of inventory strategies and ensure optimal inventory health. In this capacity, you will create and execute planning and fulfillment initiatives, utilizing industry best practices and innovative solutions aimed at enhancing customer satisfaction through improved delivery timelines, accurate forecasting, and efficient inventory turnover.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assume primary responsibility for global inventory management, ensuring alignment with budgetary goals for inventory turnover and stock levels.
  • Develop and implement strategic initiatives and process enhancements that align with operational objectives to optimize inventory levels and minimize excess and obsolete stock.
  • Establish and monitor inventory planning and fulfillment performance metrics and KPIs by collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers and distribution centers, utilizing data analysis and performance tracking tools.
  • Lead cross-functional projects aimed at enhancing customer delivery performance, lead times, and inventory management, employing Lean Six Sigma methodologies where applicable.
  • Conduct thorough inventory analysis, serving as the primary resource for inventory-related inquiries. Proactively identify and communicate inventory risks and opportunities to stakeholders during monthly reviews, advocating for necessary corrective actions.
  • Ensure the integration of inventory strategies from new product introductions into the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process.
  • Mentor and train teams, conducting comprehensive gap analyses across the organization and proposing solutions to achieve desired service levels while optimizing inventory.
  • Champion the adoption of inventory management best practices globally, ensuring compliance with established processes and guidelines across business units.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Business, Engineering, or a related field, with 5 to 8 years of experience in inventory management and planning roles.
  • Strong understanding of inventory optimization principles and associated financial implications.
  • Excellent collaboration skills, with a proven ability to establish and implement best practices across diverse manufacturing environments.
  • Proficient analytical, mathematical, organizational, and communication skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and experience in coaching and developing planning teams.
  • High levels of commitment, initiative, adaptability, and meticulousness.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in team settings, facilitate discussions, and influence stakeholders.
  • Capacity to thrive under pressure while identifying and addressing systemic challenges.
  • Self-driven, results-oriented professional with a history of successful process implementation.
  • Familiarity with SAP and digital supply chain tools.
  • Experience in a global business environment is advantageous.
  • Certifications such as CPIM or an MBA are considered a plus.
  • This is a remote position.
