**Job Summary**

The Manufacturing Engineering Manager is the site technology leader of Jabil's manufacturing processes and systems, designed to deliver superior performance and operational efficiency. This role supports Operations' business development effort with current and potential customers, and development/implementation of both site and global manufacturing engineering strategies. The successful candidate will establish optional manufacturing methods and processes for the organization's production lines, lead and motivate a large group of engineers, and provide ongoing review of the effective utilization of equipment, production methods, equipment layout, personnel, and material flow.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Recruit, interview, and hire industrial engineers, process, manufacturing, and project engineers.
  • Coach industrial engineering, manufacturing, and process engineering staff in the interviewing/hiring process.
  • Monitor team member turnover, identify key factors that can be improved, and make improvements.
  • Identify individual and team strengths and development needs on an ongoing basis.
  • Create and/or validate training curriculum in the area of responsibility.
  • Coach and mentor industrial engineering staff to deliver excellence to every internal and external customer.
  • Create and manage succession plans for the industrial and manufacturing engineering function.
  • Establish clear measurable goals and objectives by which to determine individual and team results.
  • Solicit ongoing feedback from workcell manager, business unit manager, peers, and team members on team member's contribution to the workcell team.
  • Provide coaching and counseling to team members based on feedback.
  • Express pride in staff and encourage them to feel good about their accomplishments.
  • Perform team member evaluations professionally and on time.
  • Drive individuals and the team to continuously improve in key operational metrics and the achievement of the organizational goals.
  • Coordinate activities of large teams and keep them focused in times of crises.
  • Ensure recognition and rewards are managed fairly and consistently in the area of responsibility.
  • Provide communication forums for the exchange of ideas and information with the department.
  • Organize verbal and written ideas clearly and use an appropriate business style.
  • Ask questions and encourage input from team members.
  • Assess communication style of individual team members and adapt own communication style accordingly.
  • Know and understand corporate, campus, and global PE, IE, and ME tactical and strategic direction.
  • Define, develop, and implement a process engineering and industrial engineering strategy that contributes to the campus strategic directions.
  • Develop an understanding of the workcell business strategy as it pertains to industrial and process engineering.
  • Provide regular updates to business unit manager, workcell manager, and operations manager on the execution of the strategy.
  • Manage technical support globally to sustain corporate intranet site worldwide growth strategy as needed.
  • Identify creative ways to reduce cost by streamlining processes and systems.
  • Utilize tools to monitor departmental cost and cost trends, striving continuously to improve value.
  • Provide feedback to peers on cost and cost trends.
  • Prepare timely forecasts for the department.
  • Compare forward forecast results to historical actual results for trend assessment and analysis.
  • Anticipate future headcount requirements based on open bays and projected business needs.
