We are currently seeking a dynamic, results-driven Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to join our SLP Plant in Mexico. In this role, under the direct supervision of the Supervisor Supplier Development, you will be primarily responsible for ensuring components and products adhere to specified requirements. You will apply your knowledge and solid understanding of product and process engineering to improve supplier operations, leading to reductions in lead time, inventory, PPM/total cost, and manufacturing system.
Key Responsibilities:
- Definition and monitoring of corrective and preventive actions to minimize supplier rejections.
- Establishing characteristics and methods based on specifications to perform inspections upon receipt of material.
- Implementing improvement programs with suppliers and monitoring their progress.
- Conducting on-site assessments and supplier support visits to enhance supplier performance and achieve company objectives in the areas of Quality, Cost, and Response.
- Participating in the approval of Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) with suppliers.
- Reviewing the design of supplier components to ensure they meet specified tolerances.
- On-site verification of capacity and implementation of the Engineering Process Control (EPC) process.
- Managing the supplier improvement system.
- Applying quality statistical tools.
- Evaluating supplier machinery and equipment to determine repair and replacement needs.
- Generating quality claims to suppliers and following up until closure using the 8D method.
- Developing plans for line specifications and capacities as necessary, ensuring component specifications align with drawings.
- Familiarity with the supplier evaluation procedure.

- Education: Mechanical, Electronic, Industrial Administrator Engineer, or related field

- Desirable skills: APQP, PPAP, VDA 6.3, Microsoft Office
This role will operate in accordance with BorgWarner SLP's current Occupational Safety and Health Administration and Management System, designed and implemented under Mexican law and applicable national and international standards. This includes safety rules, practices, and training outlined in the BorgWarner Reynosa Internal Work Regulations. Employees must assume responsibility for aspects of the Occupational Safety and Health Management System over which they have control. All reasonable precautions must be taken for the protection of one's own safety and health and that of coworkers. Additionally, employees are responsible for reporting any injuries, possible hazardous situations, exposure hazards, incidents, or accidents to their immediate supervisor for preventive and corrective actions.
Estimated Salary Range: $60,000 - $90,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
