About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Logistics and Supply Chain Manager to join our team at Siegwerk Druckfarben AG & Co. KGaA. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating international customs operations, improving processes to ensure cost-efficient and timely clearance and delivery of order volumes, and contributing to the achievement of overall performance and profitability targets.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Trade Preference Management: Develop and implement effective trade preference management strategies, including issuing and requesting long-term supplier declarations and maintaining preferential characteristics in the material master.
  2. Customs and Excise Processes: Coordinate and implement customs and excise related processes, including logistics, to ensure compliance with all foreign trade legislations such as export control, export regulations, and excise taxes.
  3. Customs Compliance: Maintain specific customs and excise guidelines by adjusting and implementing actual customs requirements, and develop new customs related processes to improve operational business practices.
  4. Logistics and Transportation: Recommend optimal transportation modes, routing, equipment, or frequency, and negotiate with customs authorities to reduce costs.
  5. Training and Development: Train SAP users in local entities in customs related aspects and logistical processes, and develop training concepts to enhance employee skills and knowledge.
  6. Performance Monitoring: Analyze data to monitor performance and plan necessary improvements, and develop metrics, reports, and process documentation to support business decisions.
  7. Business Development: Develop the business as needed by analyzing logistical problems and developing new solutions, negotiating with customers and suppliers, and identifying new and unique programs to differentiate from the marketplace and drive customer satisfaction.
  8. Leadership and Team Management: Manage the SCM-Unit team in the development and implementation of SCM-Strategies and projects, and assure the quality, quantity, cost, and efficiency of the movement and storage of goods.
Requirements
  1. Education and Experience: Industrial Engineer/ Administrative/ Logistics/ International Trade career, with 5 years of relevant experience in customs (PROSEC experience) and experience in chemical industry, Dangerous Goods Handling.
  2. Language Skills: English B1 (written and spoken).
  3. Technical Skills: Advanced SAP experience and intermediate/ advanced Office skills.
  4. Soft Skills: KPI definition and analysis, previous leadership experience, strong negotiation skills, teamwork, proactivity, and resilience.
