Job DescriptionAs a Manufacturing Process Leader at Corning, you will play a key role in driving process improvements, reducing costs, and enhancing product quality. Your expertise in engineering and manufacturing will enable you to lead projects from start to finish, develop and implement new processes, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Providing leadership in problem-solving and technical expertise to ensure timely resolution of short-term process and equipment issues;
- Providing direction to other technicians/engineers, coaching junior engineers, and guiding maintenance personnel;
- Developing and implementing permanent solutions to long-term performance issues;
- Leading projects to improve existing and new technologies and processes;
In addition to your technical expertise, you will also be responsible for developing and maintaining knowledge of the latest developments in your area of expertise, identifying and documenting intellectual property developed as part of projects, and tracking the effectiveness of projects using up-time, cost, productivity, and other appropriate measures.
Required Skills and QualificationsTo succeed in this role, you will need:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field, such as engineering or applied science;
- Green Belt certification and Black Belt training;
- Project management experience, including scope to implementation;
- Coaching and developing junior engineers/technicians;
- Manufacturing Workshops (MPIW or equivalent) training;
