**About the Role:**

We are seeking an innovative and creative prototype designer to join our team at Corning.

**Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and deliver prototypes for optical connectivity solutions for fiber optic networks.
  • Create and leverage a network of suppliers, fabrication shops, contract manufacturers, and Cable Assembly Houses.
  • Work closely with other engineers, technicians, and supply chain teams to develop product solutions.
  • Manage projects under appropriate supervision and direction from responsible engineer or supervisor.

**Required Skills and Qualifications:**

  • Technical expertise in manufacturing processes.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving techniques.
  • Experience with new processes or equipment deployment into manufacturing.
  • Ability to clearly express technical ideas.
  • Organized with good planning and time management skills.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint).
  • Familiar with CAD design and data analysis using MS Excel.
  • Familiarity with fiber optic theory.

**Estimated Salary:** $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience.
