About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced software engineering manager to lead large teams of contractors and influence horizontally across the organization. You will oversee quality and content of complex products and projects, aligning with our overall roadmaps and strategy. This is an excellent opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of pets and their owners while fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver reliable, highly available, and highly scalable systems in a Lean, agile, and domain-driven engineering environment;
* Effectively work with Product Managers, Program Managers, and other stakeholders to ensure the business is provided with appropriate solutions;
* Identify, navigate, and overcome technical and organizational barriers that may stand in the way of delivery;
* Constantly improve processes and practices around development and delivery;
* Create detailed engineering plans, processes, and procedures for engineering staff to use and abide by;
* Hire, train, and supervise engineering team members;
* Propose and oversee timelines for engineering projects;
* Direct leaders of scrum teams;
* Develop and implement validation tools;
* Foster and facilitate Agile methodologies;
* Work in an agile environment using SCRUM or Kanban;
* Design solutions, write, and test code;
* Mentor/groom Lead engineers to be next IT leaders;
* Manage and lead COTS evaluation that will improve SDLC efficiency for the team;
* Review and work with vendors on RFP & Technical proposals;
* Manage financials for their team (budget, accruals, invoices, forecasts etc);

Requirements:
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or other related fields, or equivalent work experience;
* 8+ years of IT and business industry work experience in managing multiple, large, cross-functional teams or projects and influencing senior-level management and key stakeholders;
* Requires advanced technical and business knowledge in software development life cycle, quality assurance, project management, and other related disciplines/processes;

Earning Potential:
The estimated annual salary for this role is $140,000 - $180,000, depending on qualifications and location.
