Job Summary

CEMEX is seeking a highly skilled Automation Project Engineer to coordinate, review, and ensure compliance with automation engineering guidelines, design criteria, specifications, and standards during the development and execution of electrical and automation engineering projects worldwide. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automation engineering, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.

Main Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and supervise the development and delivery of automation engineering projects, ensuring compliance with CEMEX standards and guidelines.
  • Manage the purchase of electrical concepts for projects and participate in project startup, stabilization, and formal closure.
  • Active participation in projects and studies through the preliminary execution of proposals for automation-related equipment sizing and selection.
  • Support the projects construction team during project execution, startup, and commissioning stages.
Position Challenges
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary, multifunctional, and multicultural engineers and engineering companies during project development.
  • Assure compliance of all projects with CEMEX automation engineering design criteria, specifications, and standards.
  • Participate during all stages of the project from engineering, purchases up to start up and commissioning.
Qualifications

Level of Education: Master Degree. Preferably Automatic Control related master's degree and/or sufficient proven experience in PLC/HMI selection and programming.

Area of Study: Administration, Sciences, Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering.

Knowledge Requirements:

  • Automation equipment's selections, control and instrumentation engineering revision.
  • Cement and Concrete Production knowledge preferably.
  • Knowledge of PC Programs: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and others.
  • Specify Knowledge: CAD, AutoCad general knowledge, PLC programming software knowledge (like Schneider Unity, AB Studio 5000, Siemens TIA portal/Step7).
  • SCADA programming software's (like: Schneider Vijeo Citect, Hybrid DCS, FLSA ECS, AB Factory Talk, Emerson Delta V).
  • Field HMI programming development (Schneider Magellis Vijeo Designer, AB Panel View Fact Talk, Siemens WinCC/TIA, etc.).

Spanish Native desirable, English 90%.

Experience: 1 year experience (Preferably) Cement and/or mining related projects/equipment's/commissioning experience. 3 years experience on Automation Engineering projects (Engineering firms, equipment selection-specifications, process control system PLC and/or SCADA programming).

General Knowledge: General knowledge of cement, ready-mix and aggregate industry related equipment's and installations. General knowledge of engineering and projects process development.

Good knowledge on PLC/SCADA/HMI programming, good knowledge on automation related engineering like control system architecture, PI&D diagrams, machine control schematics, functional descriptions and instrumentation.

Good knowledge on automation related systems equipment's selection, like PLC/IO hardware and software, PC and servers, operation console, fiber optic, ethernet networks and communication, etc.

Willing to travel and relocation.
