Junior Solution Architect - LatAm

Chubb is seeking a motivated IT Architect with experience in Solution Architecture to become a vital part of our regional IT Architecture team. This role focuses on facilitating the adoption and integration of innovative technologies and new distribution partners, guiding the design processes during the initial phases and assisting in project execution. The successful candidate will be tasked with creating solution architecture designs, developing application roadmaps, and overseeing cloud migration and modernization efforts for the assigned portfolio. They will serve as the primary liaison between local leadership and regional/global architecture teams as necessary.

The ideal candidate should possess a strong desire to learn and apply architectural design patterns suited for contemporary environments, while effectively managing and prioritizing technology decisions across a portfolio of applications and spearheading modernization initiatives. Additionally, the candidate will contribute to enhancing the adoption of standard Enterprise Architecture frameworks and best practices, such as Domain Driven Design, and will be responsible for defining key performance indicators for the programs under their purview. The individual will also be accountable for the completion and validation of solution design artifacts.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop architecture frameworks, reference architectures, and specific solution architectures.

- Mentor and coordinate activities with distributor partners, vendors, and internal teams.

- Conduct research on alternative scenarios to formulate high-level architectural solutions.

- Create solution designs and documentation adhering to Chubb standards, including Archimate.

- Assist in detailed analysis of systems of records, digital technologies, cloud adoption, and DevSecOps implementation.

- Improve Chubb's KPIs and reporting methods for Enterprise Architecture.

- Collaborate closely with operational and business teams to comprehend business needs, prioritize them, and translate them into IT deliverables.

- Lead the design, execution, and documentation of Proof of Concepts for emerging technologies.

- Perform code reviews and follow up on recommendations.

- Aid in identifying and developing best practices and guidelines for IT architecture in the LatAm region.

Qualifications:

- Education: Bachelor's or Engineering degree in IT.

- Language Proficiency: High proficiency in English and Spanish, with the ability to engage in video conferences and produce written documentation.

- Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a relevant role, with prior experience in implementing security measures.

- Industry Background: Experience in retail or financial services sectors is preferred.

- Technical Skills: Proficiency in at least one modern technology stack (Java Spring Boot, Quarkus, or modern .Net preferred), capable of conducting code reviews and recommending design patterns.

- Familiarity with banking or payment processing systems is advantageous.

- Understanding of secure coding practices and their implications on solution design.

- Solid grasp of Software Engineering patterns and their application in refactoring scenarios.

- Experience with B2B integration patterns (both batch and online), including SSO patterns.

- Knowledge of cloud environments with PaaS solutions (Azure preferred).

- High-level understanding of architectural modeling and concepts.

- Experience in evaluating and comparing technologies/products based on functional and non-functional requirements.

- Working knowledge of Kubernetes and other containerization solutions.

- Strong organizational skills and analytical abilities.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word is required.

- Ability to interact effectively with various levels of the organization.

- Quick learner with the ability to adapt to project processes and tools.

- Detail-oriented mindset.
