Job Title: Professional CSMU Electrical Controls Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Professional CSMU Electrical Controls Engineer to join our team in Monterrey, N.L., with up to 50% travel to customer locations in the USA.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to work on complex engineering projects, leading the design of semi-complex systems that integrate hardware and software. As a CSMU Electrical Controls Engineer, you will be responsible for planning, schematic and panel assembly drawings, working with PLCs (Allen Bradley and/or Siemens), HMIs, VFDs, and implementing and commissioning engineering design projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design of semi-complex systems that integrate hardware and software.
  • Complete schematics and control panel designs.
  • Perform standard professional work, including material specification, schematic preparation, bill-of-materials development, and follow-up.
  • Support project budgets, schedules, and risks.
  • Participate in recommending ideas related to productivity improvement, cost reduction, and improvement in customer satisfaction.
  • Solve complex or unusual problems related to Hardware and/or Software.
  • Lead complex projects through the project lifecycle, including delegating project tasks accordingly.
  • Perform site-audits at initiation of project to gather site information and confirm scope.
  • Perform on-site commissioning activities independently or as part of a team.
  • Review and report feedback of site readiness Audits (commissioning checklist/instructions).
  • Own the Commissioning Plan and Schedule.
  • Mentor and share knowledge with less experienced engineers and provide guidance to installation teams.
Requirements:
  • BS/BA in electrical engineering or advanced degree.
  • 4+ years of successful experience in related field.
  • Demonstrates and applies a broad knowledge of field of specialization through successful completion of moderately complex assignments.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of organization's business practices and issues.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and proficient in either Rockwell or Siemens PLCs.
  • Knowledgeable on AC drives, both open & closed loop.
  • Experience in Ethernet IP network design and machine safety a plus.
  • Ability to work on individually and small/large teams from different regions.
  • Flexibility to travel to multiple projects depending on projects schedules.
  • Maintain the administrative responsibilities along with site responsibilities in order.
