As a Strategic Planning Operations Manager at Micron, you will be responsible for building and publishing Micron's monthly Operations (OP) plan in accordance with corporate strategies and priorities.

This role involves optimizing the plan across various constraints and priorities of Global Operations, Business Units, Corporate Strategy, and Finance. You will be the primary interface between Manufacturing, Demand Management, Business Operations, Product Lifecycle, Engineering, and Operations Planning organization throughout each Operations Planning cycle.

You will translate manufacturing capability and roadmap into Sellable Supply that respects WoS targets and create and publish a feasible manufacturing plan that aligns to constrained demand. Additionally, you will work with stakeholders to summarize and communicate changes in unconstrained consensus inputs, coordinate modifications to demand inputs needed to support scenario analysis, and ensure overall accuracy and alignment to strategic objectives of the constrained demand signal prior to final plan publication.

This position drives alignment towards the company's financial, market, and operations strategy, which is recognized by all organizations.

Responsibilities:

  • Publish 3-year manufacturing plans, sellable supply, and inventory plans
  • Highlight and drive resolution to planning issues associated with compiling the OP Plan, including excess and shortage to projected inventory targets, gaps between roadmap strategy, manufacturing capability, and market demands
  • Partner with Global Operations and Strategic Supply Planning to develop factory network and loading strategies
  • Analyze and publish updates internally to manufacturing boundary conditions and their impacts to Micron's revenue plan
  • Root cause gaps between supply capability and bottoms up supply/demand match
  • Build, solve, and communicate internally impacts of various what-if scenarios for executive approval
  • Collaborate with Finance to analyze consolidated revenue, margin, and capex impacts of plan changes
  • Drive improvement to process effectiveness and efficiency metrics
  • Collaborate with GSM, Manufacturing, R&D, Product engineering teams to collect and analyze impact of yield, quality, technology adjustments, and roadmap changes
  • Identify process inefficiencies/conflicts and collaborate with key stakeholders to drive continuous improvement efforts to address the gaps
  • Ensure forecast updates are completed accurately and in accordance with published deadlines
  • Ensure unconstrained and constrained consensus inputs are aligned with established business unit targets and objectives

Requirements:

  • Estimated salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on location
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as Operations Research or Industrial Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in operations planning or a related field
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Familiarity with industry-standard software and tools, such as SAP or Oracle
