About the Role

Job Summary: S&P Global is seeking a highly skilled Senior Database Engineer to join our Infrastructure Engineering team. As a key player in securing the AWS Cloud database environment, you will be responsible for implementing industry best practices and internal policies.

The Team

About the Team: Our dynamic team of AWS database experts is looking for a technically strong Database Engineer with a hands-on approach. As part of this role, you will be vital in expanding and optimizing our AWS cloud databases and pipeline architecture.

The Impact

What You Will Achieve: As a Database Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work on all aspects of DB Infrastructure and some part of Development with a focus on building scalable and highly available solutions on AWS.

Responsibilities
  • Provision and administer RDS, Aurora, and other databases in AWS Cloud.
  • Hands-on experience in AWS Cloud solutions using AWS Aurora & RDS.
  • Automate routine Cloud DBA maintenance, patching tasks using scripting technologies.
  • Develop scripts to automate Database infrastructure provisioning.
  • Implement cloud database engineering best practices and controls.
  • Evaluate new cloud database AWS services and solutions.
  • Enforce cloud database security policies and audit logging mechanisms.
Requirements
  • Proficient in cloud computing platforms, particularly AWS.
  • Skilled in managing AWS Global Aurora Postgres and Global Aurora MySQL.
  • Familiar with tools for monitoring and administering cloud databases.
  • Experienced in developing engineering solutions for both relational (RDBMS) and non-relational databases in the cloud.
  • Expertise in automating cloud database provisioning, upgrades, security patches, and monitoring.
  • Capable of defining backup, recovery, retention, and disaster recovery procedures for cloud databases.
