We are seeking a highly skilled Senior SQL Server Database Administrator to join our team at DBA Presents. As a key member of our database administration team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining high-performance database systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Database Design and Implementation: Design and implement database systems that meet the needs of our business, ensuring high performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Database Administration: Administer and maintain existing database systems, ensuring optimal performance, security, and data integrity.
- ETL Development: Develop and maintain ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) packages to extract data from various sources, transform it into a standardized format, and load it into our database systems.
- Database Security: Ensure the security and integrity of our database systems, including implementing access controls, encryption, and auditing.
- Performance Tuning: Optimize database performance by analyzing query execution plans, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing performance tuning techniques.
- Backup and Recovery: Develop and implement backup and recovery procedures to ensure business continuity in the event of a disaster.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including development, operations, and business stakeholders, to ensure database systems meet business requirements.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience in database administration, with a focus on SQL Server.
- 5-7 years of experience with SQL Server 2014 or later.
- High-level proficiency in SQL, T-SQL, and PowerShell.
- 3+ years of experience building, deploying, and maintaining ETL packages.
- Experience with database object migrations across multiple database environments.
- Experience with troubleshooting and resolving job failures, performance issues, blocking/deadlocking issues, connectivity, and security issues.
- Proficient in optimizing database workloads using Profiler/Extended Events/DMVs or other database monitoring tools.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server operating systems (2012/2016/2019).
- Solid understanding of various Amazon Web Services, especially AWS RDS, EC2, and S3.
- Familiarity with other SQL/NoSQL databases such as Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.
- Experience with enterprise information security, user accounts, and database security management.
- Experience with source control and change control processes and tools.
- Ability to work unsupervised, prioritize task lists, and be self-responsible and accountable.
- Ability to document and communicate effectively with the team regarding technical, progress, and critical issues.
- Ability to handle multiple projects at one time.
