Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled MRO Planner Buyer to join our team at Johnson Controls. As a key member of our supply chain team, you will be responsible for coordinating and establishing operational inventory levels, by plant, by region, consistent with divisional objectives in customer service and working capital management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Optimize product availability in a multi-location, global distribution environment.
  • Apply broad-based supply chain knowledge, manufacturing operations, and production control techniques in the preparation of production plans consistent with marketing forecasts and plant capabilities to achieve target goals.
  • Procure MRO and raw material components, ensuring timely processing of all purchase orders.
  • Implement cost savings procedures in tool cribs, create and maintain min-max systems to assure indirect supplies/machine/fixtures spare parts are available.
  • Conduct product operations in Spanish language, work with suppliers in the U.S. and Mexico, and implement supply chain strategies provided by corporate procurement.
  • Meet or exceed annual goals related to cost and trade working capital, propose and report Regional/Low spend Category strategies to support site purchased material, and implement strategies and actions to reduce suppliers, standardize, and/or demand manage.
  • Prepare, review, and analyze purchase requests from users, lead the negotiation process with suppliers, and resolve escalation issues and find resolution including contract compliance failures.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • +3 years of relevant experience.
  • Experienced with MRP systems and demand flow.
  • SAP (desirable).
  • Strong MS Office skills required, advanced Excel (index/match, array formulas), and Microsoft Power Apps (Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI) or other data tools preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills and business judgment, leadership skills, service attitude, and ability to work effectively in diverse situations and with different people.
