Position Overview

The Logistics & Planning Director for CHEP Mexico will spearhead the department's initiatives, focusing on crafting and executing strategies that ensure a seamless and cost-effective flow of goods from production facilities to customers, as well as managing reverse logistics from retailers back to plants. This role encompasses the oversight of all supply chain policies and procedures to enhance the efficiency, reliability, and cost-effectiveness of our operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee logistics operations within the country, managing approximately 2,500 routes and 200,000 trips annually.
  • Ensure optimal performance and service delivery to customers.
  • Monitor logistics KPIs and manage the P&L for the department.
  • Maintain relationships with service providers and negotiate tariffs with carriers.
  • Implement stock control measures and optimize inventory management.
  • Maximize collection and delivery efficiency across the network.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive network optimization strategy.
  • Plan all logistics flows, including demand forecasting and operational logistics.
  • Utilize TMS (Transportation Management Systems) effectively.
  • Drive strategic planning initiatives from demand forecasting to network planning.
  • Focus on enhancing retailer returns through efficient collection processes while maintaining high service levels.
  • Manage all fee negotiations and secure network approvals.
  • Make informed decisions regarding total cost management.
  • Set and align departmental objectives and strategies.
  • Make critical decisions regarding logistics infrastructure and network.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in logistics within an industrial setting.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a director-level role.
  • Strong analytical skills with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
  • Proficient in TMS and lean thinking methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive results and manage carrier relationships.
  • Experience in efficiency optimization and implementation.
  • Strategic mindset for logistics network planning.
  • Strong negotiation skills and business acumen.
  • Proven track record in people development and project management.
  • Fluency in English is required.
