Job Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced MRO Buyer to join our team at our manufacturing site in Mexico. As an MRO Buyer, you will be responsible for procuring indirect materials, managing inventory levels, and ensuring a consistent flow of materials to support our production operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process purchase requisitions in Oracle, SAP, or JDE systems
  • Obtain and interpret quotes from suppliers
  • Negotiate prices, delivery times, and conditions with suppliers
  • Manage inventory levels and prevent stockouts or overstocking
  • Provide daily updates to production planning and master scheduling teams
  • Coordinate plant visits with suppliers to review samples and gather information
  • Work with customs and logistics departments to ensure smooth material crossings
  • Evaluate costs with established suppliers and identify opportunities for cost savings
  • Support accounts payable and receipts departments as needed
  • Develop cost reduction plans and projects to meet annual objectives
  • Monitor and evaluate the level of service provided by main suppliers
  • Register new suppliers and maintain supplier records
  • Make decisions based on min-max reports to maintain TOOLCRIB supplies

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent
  • 5 years of experience as an indirect materials buyer with experience in negotiating with suppliers and familiarity with manufacturing operations
  • Familiarity with forecasting tools and APICS CPIM certification
  • Advanced analytical and cognitive skills
  • Experience with MRP, MPS, and Min-Max tools
  • Experience with ERP systems
  • Bilingual English/Spanish
  • Proficient in MS Office/Excel and able to develop spreadsheets
