Head Agronomist

Sistema.bio is a dynamic social impact company certified as a B Corp, dedicated to creating value from waste and promoting regenerative farming practices. We are seeking a highly skilled Head Agronomist to join our global team and contribute to our mission of reducing 1% of global greenhouse gas emissions.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing agricultural inputs, fertilizers, and services that support farmers in transforming their operations into regenerative, climate-adaptive systems. This will involve collaborating with our Sistema.soil team to create a clear circular linkage of organic wastes and agricultural inputs that can scale to our global markets.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Conducting laboratory tests to assess the effectiveness of biofertilizer products and regenerative processes on crops and soil.
• Developing and executing a product testing strategy that supports the business, including biomass assessments of materials available for use in compost, biochar, biogas, and biofertilizer formulations.
• Creating optimized fertilizer formulations, testing biofertilizers presented by the Sistema.soil team, and providing technical support to commercial and tech-ops teams on bioslurry and biofertilizer uses.
• Managing, setting up, and diagnosing precision ag products for accurate data collection and efficiency.
• Delivering strategies to increase and expand our services and products.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

• A degree in Agronomy or Bio-Technology.
• Strong research, decision-making, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to conduct lab-scale experiments and scale them for field implementation.
• Self-management, self-direction, and accountability for work flows.
• A positive mindset, with a solution-based approach rather than a problem-based approach.
• Rigorous attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work with a multicultural team.
