About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Cost Accountant to join our team at Convatec, a global medical products and technologies company.

As a Senior Cost Accountant, you will play a key role in analyzing and presenting information related to costs requested by the management team for planning and budget control.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze current manufacturing costs and prepare regular reports comparing standard costs against current costs of production.
  • Identify trends and projections to guide cost analysis and inform business decisions.
  • Determine costs of operations through establishment of standard costs and monitoring accuracy of raw material, labor, and personnel costs.
  • Ensure compliance with policy cycle count, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Plan annual physical inventory and evaluate results.
  • Prepare monthly efficiency reports.
  • Introduce product costs into the system.
  • Publish monthly sales reports.
  • Upload annual standard costs to the system.
  • Run GIT report and register it monthly.
  • Analyze and report quarterly obsolete items.
  • Review journal entries, analyze variance, calendars of closing, and prepare additional data for all month closures.
  • Supervise monthly review and validation of estimated labor costs.
  • Report inventory details of monthly inventories reporting activity and progress reports related to Stock.
  • Calculate absorption of labor and machinery index - annual/quarterly and fully loaded labor and material variances.
  • Review accounts balance sheet - monthly preparation and review of reconciliations between accounts balances.
  • Participate in SOX controls/audits.
  • Map accounts to appropriate cost pools in the system.

About You

  • Degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineer, Costs, or Equivalent in Finance.
  • Bilingual (Spanish and English).
  • Strong financial and cost knowledge.
  • Analytical and detail-oriented.
  • Experience in cost systems and processes, Microsoft Office, SAP, etc.
  • Previous related experience in a manufacturing environment.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is around $120,000 per annum, depending on location and experience. Additionally, you can expect a range of benefits, including health insurance, retirement savings plan, and paid time off.
