Job Summary: Role Purpose
As a key member of the Capital and Liquidity Risk team at Hsbc, you will play a critical role in ensuring the bank's compliance with regulatory requirements and maintaining a robust control environment. The team is responsible for providing assurance on the bank's capital and liquidity risk management activities, including financial and non-financial risk processes.
Main Responsibilities:
- Support the Treasury Risk Assurance function in promoting synergies and efficiencies while securing an optimal and best-in-class control environment.
- Challenge first-line control and risk owners to ensure that risk management activities are working effectively, including:
- Providing subject matter expertise, advice, guidance, and effective challenge to Risk and Control Owners.
- Reporting on the risk and control profile, including support in reviewing and testing the operating effectiveness of the control framework.
- Supporting the definition of the Risk and Control Library, including minimum control standards, with input from Risk Owners and Control Owners.
- Recommending Risk and Control Assessment (RCA) scoping and challenging where this is not appropriately applied in the RCA.
- Challenging Risk and Control Owners on risk and control management, including inherent risk, residual risk, control effectiveness ratings, issues, actions, and events.
- Supporting targeted assurance reviews and deep dives of end-to-end processes across high-risk metrics.
- Monitoring compliance with minimum requirements applicable to the management of capital and liquidity risk, as set out in relevant policies.
- Working with the business to understand the impact of emerging risks that require changes to controls, resources, and business operations to ensure they remain within appetite, as well as collaborating with Internal Audit to understand the outcomes of their reviews and how this affects the control environment.
