Job Title: Lead Elixir Engineer

This is a remote position and we are hiring candidates from the whole country. AgileEngine is one of the Inc. 5000 fastest-growing companies in the US and a top-3 ranked dev shop according to Clutch. Key Responsibilities:
  • Build, design, and maintain all websites and software applications.
  • Regulate exposure to business stakeholders and executive management as well as other authorities.
  • Design, write, and edit website content.
  • Understand UI, cross-browser compatibility, and general web functions and standards.
  • Create solutions for identified problems or bugs.
  • Communicate with colleagues, managers, and stakeholders daily.
  • Execute assignments with the use of web applications, scripts, and programming languages such as Elixir, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and APIs.
  • Develop and validate test routines to ensure the quality of the external and internal interface.
  • Plan and deliver software platforms and products across multiple organizational units.
  • Design assignments with web services like REST, SOAP, etc.
  • Evaluate written code to ensure it meets industry standards and is compatible with all devices.
  • Maintain a professional understanding of web development by tracking trends and participating in study groups.
  • Accomplish company goals by accepting ownership of new and different requests.
Requirements:
  • Be truly language agnostic, you need to be agile to pick up new languages and skills and deliver new solutions to unexpected problems.
  • 4+ years of web development with expertise in Elixir.
  • 4+ years of web development experience with expertise in JavaScript frameworks.
  • 4+ years of front-end development experience, with expertise in CSS and HTML with a focus on building complex layouts and meeting pixel-perfect design requirements.
  • Experience with building performant, responsive front-end components.
  • A technical background with knowledge of engineering principles and design patterns.
  • Passionate about writing clean, modern, maintainable, & highly performant code.
  • A proactive ability and a self-starter attitude to troubleshoot and solve problems.
  • A positive, collaborative, and solution-oriented approach.
  • Experience working in an Agile team.
  • Self-awareness and a desire to continually improve.
  • Upper-intermediate English level.
Nice to Have:
  • Experience with PHP and at least 1 major framework such as Laravel, Phalcon, Symfony, etc.
  • Experience with TypeScript and at least 1 modern Frontend Web Framework such as VueJS, Angular or Svelte.
  • Experience with Server-Side rendering in either Node.js, Next.js, or Hugo.
  • Experience in e-commerce engineering.
  • Experience with NextJS or Phoenix.
