Courier/Swing Driver II

As a Courier/Swing Driver II at FedEx, you will play a critical role in delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of packages. This position requires a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

• Operate company vehicles safely and efficiently, adhering to all governmental and corporate procedures.
• Provide courteous and efficient delivery and pick-up of packages, ensuring that all shipments conform to FedEx features of service.
• Accomplish accurate and timely selection and inspection of assigned packages, reporting stop counts and miss-sorts as required.
• Seek additional business from current customers and attempt to gain new business, passing leads to the sales department as necessary.
• Answer customer questions on FedEx features of service and keep customers informed about the company and its services.
• Determine the legality of packages, including special requirements for dangerous goods and international shipments, and separate packages by service type and destination in accordance with established procedures.
• Scan packages according to prescribed procedures and demonstrate proficiency in features of service and equipment.
• Ensure customers have an adequate supply of FedEx materials for shipping.
• Meet aircraft and transport packages as required for sorting operations.
• Load and unload aircraft, containers, and company vehicles, operating mechanized ramp equipment as necessary.
• Clean, wash, and perform minor maintenance on company vehicles as needed, maintaining a neat and clean personal appearance to uphold the company's public image.

• High School Degree or Equivalent.
• Four (4) years of experience as a Courier.
• Must be licensed for the type of vehicle assigned and have no preventable accidents during the previous two (2) years.
• Must be able to demonstrate multi-route knowledge.
• Ability to maneuver packages of any weight above 75 pounds with appropriate equipment and/or assistance from another person.
• Good human relations and verbal communication skills.
• Thorough knowledge of the station's service area preferred.
