Job Summary

As a key member of the FedEx team, the Operations Handler is responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe delivery and pickup of packages. This role involves handling packages, checking for proper labeling and legality, and completing necessary paperwork.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle packages with care, ensuring proper labeling, legality, and wrapping
  • Check packages for weight, size, and special requirements
  • Complete necessary paperwork, including airway bills and delivery records
  • Seek additional business from current customers
  • Inform Station Ops. Manager and Sales of changes in customer/competitor efforts
  • Load and unload company aircraft and vehicles safely
  • Audit size and weight of packages and boxes
  • Sort packages efficiently
  • Ensure use of safety equipment and compliance with FedEx safety policies
  • Operate company vehicles safely and perform basic maintenance

Requirements

  • Valid Drivers License and good driving record
  • Basic English Skills
  • Minimum Experience: Experience operating ramp and warehouse equipment preferred
  • Ability to lift 70 lbs and maneuver packages weighing up to 150 lbs with appropriate equipment
  • General vehicle maintenance a plus and power and hand tools experience preferred
  • Ability to successfully complete Reading, Map Reading, Sorting, and Math sections of the Basic Skills Test
