Cloud Engineering Expertise - Summary: Our team is seeking a skilled AWS Cloud Architect to support all phases of the software development lifecycle, including development, testing, and deployment.

Primary functions include designing, developing, documenting, testing, and debugging new tooling, pipeline configurations, best practices/processes, infrastructure connectivity, and/or applications for internal use.

This role requires expertise in leading and influencing technical direction with an awareness of decision and resulting impacts on business and technical objectives.

In addition, they have productive and solid working relationships with internal and third-party team members.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Influences technical direction for large-scale, highly complex technical initiatives and/or projects requiring integration of cross-functional systems.
  • Analyzes current technology utilized within the company and develops steps and processes to improve and expand upon them.
  • Builds and tests automation tools for infrastructure provisioning, documents, and designs various processes, updates existing processes.
  • Provides technical guidance and educates team members and coworkers on best practices and processes.
  • Improves infrastructure development and application development.
  • Brainstorms for new ideas and ways to improve development delivery, tests implemented designs, and maintains day-to-day management and administration of projects.
  • Actively mentors and contributes to the technical and soft skills development of internal and third-party teams.
Requirements:

Bachelor's degree or 4 additional years of experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted in lieu of a degree.

6+ years of Platform Engineering (AWS) experience demonstrating depth of technical and functional understanding with specific I/T discipline(s)/technology(s).

Preferred Experience:
  • 4+ years of experience implementing AWS technologies and services.
  • 3+ years of experience orchestrating and automating continuous delivery pipelines.
  • 3+ years of experience with Terraform or similar infrastructure as code tools.
  • 3+ years of experience working with container technologies and cloud deployments.
  • 3+ years of experience integrating automated testing tools into delivery pipelines.
  • Experience with setting Operation-level Strategy for deployment and Cloud infrastructure.
  • Hands-on experience with CI tools such as Gitlab CI, Gradle, Terraform.
  • Working experience with Linux or similar tools.
  • Troubleshooting experience with cloud infrastructure and tools such as Kitchen, TerraTest, Python scripting, GoLang, NodeJS, Lambda, and EKS.
  • Good EKS support and EKS cloud experience and knowledge is a must.
  • Hands-on experience with Production Cloud Deployments (Kubernetes, OpenShift, AWS, Docker, Artifactory).
  • Ability to seek opportunities for problem-solving and finding solutions to infrastructure, development, and operational related needs.
  • Experience working in a highly available environment.
