About the Role:

Eaton's IS VEH VGNA division is currently seeking a highly skilled EHS Engineer to join our team. As an EHS Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and managing the plant's Safety, Environmental, and Health programs, as well as Facilities new projects, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Safety, Environmental, and Health programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Manage the plant's EHS documentation system, including the development and maintenance of policies, procedures, and training programs.
  • Lead initiatives to improve EHS performance, including the development and implementation of action plans and strategic EHS planning.
  • Coordinate and lead activities associated with preparing for, obtaining, and sustaining OSHA and OpA certifications.
  • Manage the plant's EHS budgeting and capital expenditure inputs.
  • Develop and implement cost-out and cost-avoidance projects for EHS and Facilities departments.
  • Participate in the planning and purchasing decisions regarding the potential EHS impact of new equipment, processes, PPE, and construction or renovation.
  • Develop and implement recommended EHS budgeting inputs and CAPEX inputs.
  • Prepare required reports, plans, and other government EHS filings and ensure timely and accurate submissions.
  • Lead with manufacturing ergonomics and safety issues.
  • Participate in Machine Guarding remediation programs.
  • Support EHS for all new projects in the plant.
  • EHS assessor of internal certification process (OJT).
  • Implement, promote, and maintain a safe work environment by implementing a culture of accident prevention, investigation, equipment maintenance, and application of rules.
  • Identify, control, and administer risk and danger in own area.

Qualifications:

  • University degree required, with qualification in administration, occupational safety, industrial hygiene, environmental discipline, or equivalent.
  • Relevant advanced degree preferred, professional certification preferred (Certified Safety Professional, Certified Industrial Hygienist, Certified Hazardous Materials Manager, or country equivalent).
  • English language capability, speaking, reading, and writing required.
  • 2 years' experience with an emphasis in environmental, health, and safety program management and employee training.
  • Experience with security operations is a plus.
  • Comprehension of Eaton, industry, state, and country environmental, health, and safety requirements.
  • High level of interpersonal skill to work effectively with others.
  • Strong leadership skills to lead the organization on a continuous journey of sustained improvement, including the ability to manage large numbers of disparate projects and track projects through completion.
  • Adept at development and utilization of software solutions.
  • Understanding of manufacturing technologies and processes.
  • Ability to lead and support cross-functional process improvement teams.
