Job Overview

The Senior Portfolio Manager role is a critical part of the Portfolio Services Management function, responsible for linking strategy to execution. This involves ensuring initiatives follow a well-established pipeline, sourcing effort into various teams, and providing information to promptly decide on committing, cancelling, or transforming initiatives.

This executive-level role engages and influences a wide spectrum of stakeholders and partners across Hsbc, operating at the forefront of business transformation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Rank Portfolio managed in DBS Transformation based on prioritization criteria defined for the enterprise.
  • Develop an engagement strategy across all other portfolios, ensuring standardized reporting mechanisms.
  • Manage the health of the portfolio in coordination with planning cycles, budget processes, and execution roadmaps.
  • Track financial records of the portfolio, ensuring costs are managed according to business cases and capitalization is achieved.
  • Embed consistent usage of tools and processes to track all portfolios on a consistent basis.
  • Understand transformational efforts and risk profiles of each initiative to ensure proper sourcing and timely escalations.
  • Monitor project deliverables and milestones, risks, and issues.
  • Coordinate portfolio governance arrangements.
  • Collect, collate, and process portfolio information from stakeholders.
  • Monitor and report on budgets and expenditures.
  • Assist in implementing change framework standards across projects.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • In-depth knowledge of Hsbc's International structure, methodology, and financial market best practices, as well as general regulatory requirements.
  • Understanding of the rate model for billing to Lines of Business.
  • Alignment to the FRP and reporting to the country PDC.
  • Understanding of Boundary Change operations.
  • Solid knowledge of Hsbc's Systems and Platforms, and a strong understanding of all processes and procedures to identify and recommend solutions to meet project needs in support of the business.

Salary

The estimated salary for this position is £80,000 - £110,000 per annum, depending on experience and location.
