Software Quality Assurance Engineer

Carrier is seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Software Quality Assurance Engineer with experience in embedded systems to join the Commercial Controls Engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of software testing methodologies, excellent problem-solving skills, and a strong attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop comprehensive test plans and strategies for embedded software projects.
  • Execute test cases, both manual and automated, to verify the functionality, performance, and reliability of embedded software components and systems.
  • Conduct thorough regression testing to ensure that software updates and modifications do not introduce new defects or regressions in existing functionality.
  • Identify, document, and track defects using issue tracking systems, and collaborate closely with development teams to ensure timely resolution.
  • Perform performance testing on embedded systems to assess their responsiveness, scalability, and resource utilization under various conditions.
  • Ensure that embedded software solutions comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices for quality assurance.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including software developers, hardware engineers, and product managers, to understand project requirements and deliver high-quality software solutions.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in software quality assurance, with a focus on embedded systems.
  • Proficiency in software testing techniques, including manual testing, automated testing, and regression testing.
  • Experience with test automation tools/frameworks such as Selenium, Robot Framework, or similar.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and protocols commonly used in embedded systems development.
