About the Role:

We are looking for a Global Sourcing Lead to join our team at Volex. This individual will play a key role in planning and implementing activities for cost reduction, ensuring a quick turnaround time on raw material quotes. They will be responsible for documenting and maintaining contract pricing for assigned categories to support site/regional/global business.

The successful candidate will have a solid understanding of supply chain management principles, including materials management, JIT, TCO, and Working Capital. They will also possess excellent negotiation skills, both internal and external, and be able to travel up to 40% for business-related trips.

In this role, you will:

  • Work with local purchasing to coordinate RM buys and provide proper data handoff for production ordering.
  • Conduct regular monitoring of site/regional spend to initiate savings projects.
  • Leverage global spending and negotiate best overall prices.
  • Support overall supplier negotiations.
  • Lead strategic supplier business reviews (QBR's) to monitor continuous improvement.
  • Generate and present supplier performance metrics related to RFQ response time and pricing.
  • Maintain AVL's (approved vendor lists), customer LOAs, Volex contact pricing lists.
  • Negotiate supplier payment terms to drive cash flow and improve DPO (days payable outstanding).
  • Develop strong supplier relationships, including supplier site visits.
  • Supervise and report on supplier strategies and spending.
  • Develop strategies for risk mitigation in the supply chain.
  • Provide benchmarking studies and market analysis.
  • Support negotiations for long-term agreements and rebates.
  • Facilitate category analysis (Regionally and Globally) in support of strategic sourcing initiatives.
  • Assist in the development and enhancement of processes, systems, and reporting capabilities to drive efficiencies in regional/global sourcing services.
  • Identify suitable benchmarks and implement approved process changes.
  • Contribute to Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) reduction efforts and achieve additional benefits.
