About the Role
This position is responsible for all legal and compliance matters in the Commercial & Residential Fire business in the Latin America region. We seek someone who will thrive in the face of challenges and can provide practical, proactive, and business-oriented legal advice to the business and its functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Contract negotiation and dispute management
- Labor and employment matters, regulatory compliance, international trade compliance, ethics matters, product and employee safety
- Manage outside counsel and periodically report to management
Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of legal working experience required
- Some in-house experience with an international corporation is preferred
- Experience in employment and labor law, product safety, and regulatory compliance is preferred
Skills and Qualifications
- Able to work both autonomously and as part of a team, demonstrating a collegial and productive manner
- Can quickly build effective relationships with business clients and others at all levels throughout the organization
- Bilingual Spanish/English required, Portuguese beneficial
- Strong analytical, written, and verbal skills
- Results-oriented with a bias for action and a strong work ethic
