About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Quantitative Researcher to join our team at MSCI Inc. in New York City or remotely.

Job Title: Quantitative Researcher

Salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

Job Description

You will be part of our MSCI Equity Factor Research Team, a global research group with a broad mandate to create new and innovative factors, risk models, signals, content, and analytics.

The team utilizes a variety of analytical tools and methods to conduct research, with the majority based on Python, Matlab, SQL, and other MSCI products.

You will work closely with other groups within research and across the firm (data, technology, product, sales) to implement the research agenda and benefit from the substantial resources and expertise available within the global MSCI organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct advanced quantitative analysis to identify trends and patterns in large datasets
  • Develop and maintain complex mathematical models to predict market behavior
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement new research projects
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Exceptional quantitative aptitude and critical thinking skills
  • Strong knowledge of mathematics, linear algebra, and statistics
  • Excellent computer and statistical programming skills - Python and Matlab preferred, also SQL, R
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written
  • M.S. or advanced degree in Finance, Operations Research, Engineering, Science, Computer Science, or other quantitative discipline
