Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Janitorial Associate to join our team at Marriott International. As a key member of our housekeeping staff, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of our public areas and guest rooms.

Responsibilities:

  • Clean public and employee restrooms and showers, ensuring they meet the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness.
  • Clean glass surfaces in public and employee areas, including windows, mirrors, and any other glass fixtures.
  • Clean floor surfaces using designated chemicals, supplies, and equipment, taking care to avoid damage to floors and other surfaces.
  • Dust surfaces in assigned areas, paying attention to details and ensuring that all surfaces are free from dust and debris.
  • Empty trash containers, ashtrays, and ash urns into proper containers, following established procedures for waste disposal.
  • Inspect furniture for tears, rips, and stains, reporting any damages or issues to management.
  • Clean and maintain lights, replacing bulbs as needed and ensuring that all lighting fixtures are functioning properly.
  • Post caution signs to limit traffic when necessary, promoting safety and preventing accidents.
  • Contact other departments directly for urgent repairs, ensuring that issues are addressed promptly and efficiently.
  • Respond promptly to requests from guests and other departments, providing excellent customer service and support.
  • Identify and report preventative or other maintenance issues in public areas or guest rooms, helping to prevent problems and ensure a smooth operation.

Requirements:

  • Able to move, lift, carry, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 55 pounds without assistance, and in excess of 55 pounds with assistance.
  • Ability to push and pull work-related machinery over sloping and uneven surfaces.
  • Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
  • Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines to identify defects.
  • Grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
  • Move through narrow, confined, or elevated spaces.
  • Move up and down a ladder.
  • Stand, sit, kneel, or walk for an extended period across an entire work shift.
