Manufacturing Senior Engineer

**Job Summary:**
As a senior manufacturing engineer at Polaris Inc., you will be responsible for establishing and implementing cost-efficient methods for production. You will work closely with design groups to ensure timely completion of projects within budget and identify opportunities to improve manufacturing processes, resulting in higher quality, lower cost, and increased value for consumers.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Attend project status meetings and design reviews to reduce parts, commonality, and ease of assembly. Provide guidance on lead times, part and tooling costs, and labor costs for new designs.
- Research new manufacturing technologies and coordinate procurement and implementation into manufacturing processes.
- Develop and update process documentation and procedure instructions.
- Conduct direct labor studies using acceptable engineering practices and establish standards for operations, setup, and workstation layout.
- Review preliminary product designs and make recommendations to reduce costs and improve manufacturability and quality.
- Review and evaluate the sourcing of parts for production units and recommend alternative sourcing where appropriate.
- Analyze and evaluate manufacturing methods and standards problems and provide solutions that affect costs, operator safety, productivity, and quality.
- Identify areas of unnecessary cost and research methods and procedures for cost reductions.
- Assist in the coordination of detailed, complete, and accurate capital equipment studies and make recommendations for capital expenditures.
- Work with project engineers to develop estimates of part costs and tooling and make recommendations on materials and processes for internal components.
- Assist manufacturing engineering supervisors and manufacturing teams with the development, justification, and execution of long-range plans to meet corporate objectives.
- Recognize current production problems and address them in new design development.
- Assist in the development of capital budgets and expense budgets.
- Perform special duties as assigned.
**Requirements:**
- B.S. degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or Technology.
- 7+ years manufacturing experience with Lean Manufacturing knowledge.
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Excellent verbal and written skills.
- Proficiency with PC's (MS Office) and CAD software.
- Excellent mechanical aptitude and mechanic skills.
- Strong Project Management skills.
- Desire to work on, ride, and improve industry-leading Powersports products.
