We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sports Imagery Editor to join our team at Getty Images. As a key member of our Picture Desk, you will play a critical role in reviewing and editing sports imagery to meet our high standards of editorial integrity.
Key Responsibilities- Review and edit sports imagery to ensure accuracy and quality
- Check images for proper IPTC metadata and captions, and make necessary corrections in real-time
- Assign ranking and routing information to designate where an image is sent
- Prioritize tasks according to relevancy and deadlines in collaboration with a global editing team
- Exercise solid news judgment and maintain a high level of journalistic knowledge and awareness of current and trending sports events
- Liaise with other global picture desk editors, photographers, assignment editors, and other internal customers on coverage
- Curate strong and focused sets of images to appeal to a consumer audience
- Communicate with photographers to confirm receipt of images and provide feedback
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in the editorial photography industry
- Keen awareness of current sports events and ability to engage with appropriate imagery on our social media handles
- Advanced knowledge and experience with industry-standard editing tools and an understanding of editorial integrity operations
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a remote team environment
- Experience with industry-standard editing tools, Adobe Photoshop, and Digital Asset Management (DAM) software
- Ability and desire to work flexible, non-traditional hours, including weekends, nights, and holidays
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment accurately and efficiently with high-pressure breaking news situations while maintaining thorough attention to detail
- Demonstrated knowledge of industry style captioning and IPTC metadata standards, excellent journalistic writing, and copy-editing skills
- Ability to navigate various social media platforms using a social marketing management platform
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Mac OS
