We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Piping Designer to join our team at McDermott. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing piping systems for our clients.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain piping designs and layouts for various projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and company procedures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, procurement, and construction, to ensure seamless project execution.
- Perform design verification through single discipline checks (SOC) and/or inter-discipline checks (IDC), providing comments to the Lead Designer.
- Review all project IDC design documentation for detail technical interfaces.
- Prepare, issue, and update material and weight data take-offs.
- Perform 3D model clash checks, preparing reports for inter-discipline resolution and participating in clash resolution meetings.
- Review vendor documents and provide comments for piping and equipment interfaces.
- Accredited engineering degree may be required by specific regions.
- Proven experience in piping design and engineering, with a strong understanding of industry standards and company procedures.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex design issues and develop effective solutions.
