Job Summary:
Johnson Controls is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and validating manufacturing processes for sheet metal products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop manufacturing processes for sheet metal products, including manufacturing cell design and layout optimization.
- Calculate and control optimal capacities of production lines and fabrication processes.
- Verify time standards and calculate earn hours per family product.
- Facilitate A3 problem-solving and design future-state value streams.
- Create technical documentation, including standard work sheets, OMS, ODS, FMEA, and DFAM.
- Contribute to the advancement of the organization in the JCMS and share best practices through internal and external benchmarking activities.
- Evaluate and modify layouts of production lines and production cells.
- Lead and update databases that demonstrate optimal routes of products, production times, and assignment of main and alternate machines.
- Work with multidisciplinary groups to implement Lean Manufacturing and reduce high-risk priority numbers in manufacturing PFMEA's.
- Drive process-related activities for New Product Introduction, from early planning stages to full production.
- Coach, mentor, and train Manufacturing Technicians within the Manufacturing team.
Requirements:
- Industrial, Mechatronic, or Mechanic Engineering degree.
- 3+ years of experience in powder coating processes and 3+ years of experience in sheet metal processes (turret punch press, press brakes, laser cut).
- AutoCAD experience.
- Spoken and written English, with the ability to carry on a conversation without difficulty.
- Strong knowledge of elements of continuous improvement, line balancing, capacity calculations, planning, and layout.
- Project management experience.
- Proven record of accomplishment of successful change management, implementing and managing continuous improvements and cost reduction programs.
- Strong communication skills and ability to plan and prioritize work effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
- HVAC industries experience.
- Project Management Certification.
- Six Sigma Greenbelt.
- Lean Manufacturing.
