The Role and Team
We are seeking a motivated Sr Software Engineer to join our global team in the Medallia Core Collections group. As a key member of our team, you will play a major role in taking our industry-leading SaaS platform to the next level. You will lead the innovation of our core platform, designing and building highly performant, scalable, and robust backend components for our user-facing applications.
Responsibilities
- Ship great software that is scalable and robust, and then maintain its performance
- Drive the technical roadmap and definition, helping the team prioritize and plan
- Partner closely with dependent teams across engineering to ensure uninterrupted service
- Identify gaps in knowledge, tools, and process, and work with relevant stakeholders to address them
- Incorporate best development practices and habits, and help build tooling to enforce them
- Work in small teams with like-minded engineers in an agile environment
- Become a go-to person for a part or whole of the system
Qualifications
- Minimum 4+ years of commercial industry experience working on complex back-end distributed systems and enterprise-grade customer-centric software
- 6+ years of demonstrated experience with Java or C++ (or another high-level object-oriented language)
- Experience with SaaS environments and distributed systems
- Experience with relational / NoSQL databases
- Bring an ownership mindset with quality orientation and DevOps experience
- Agile process experience, ability to work in fast-paced and distributed teams
Preferred Qualifications
- BS/MS Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent degree
- Expert knowledge of Java 8+ preferred
- Experience with identifying performance issues and making the appropriate improvements preferred
- Experience working with a large codebase preferred
- Experience in working with a distributed team preferred
