About the Role
The Implementation Consultant - Data Onboarding Specialist at MSCI Inc. plays a critical role in facilitating the onboarding of client investment data onto our platform. This position requires a high level of attention to detail, confidence, and an entrepreneurial mindset.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain client portfolio hierarchies and fund manifests, including the creation of UDFs and commitment documents.
- Develop and implement templates to integrate new clients' historical accounting data.
- Validate historical fund-level market values, transactions, and returns against clients' performance providers, triage and remediate differences, and document potential causes.
- Enter and modify liquidity terms based on client feedback.
- Communicate with clients to coordinate project deadlines and answer questions about the onboarding process and deliverables.
- Assist in maintaining project management documentation to track exposure maintenance, manager communications, and project timelines.
- Support the creation of client fact sheets and other client-specific documentation to prepare clients for business-as-usual (BAU) services.
- Train new employees on data team processes.
- Collaborate with the data engineering team to set up client accounting and exposure feeds from custodial banks.
- Coordinate with the development and client solutions teams to assist with client requests or platform bugs.
Requirements and Qualifications
- 1-3 years of experience in a related field.
- Strong financial and analytical skills.
- Client service orientation and problem-solving ability.
- Partnership or investment accounting experience is a plus.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are required.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to speak and write in English with a high degree of fluency.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, meet reporting deadlines, and demonstrate flexibility with delivery of assignments.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Mathematics is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of VBA, SQL, or other programming languages is a plus.
