About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team in creating customizations for computer room air conditioning (CRAC) units. As a key member of our cross-functional development group, you will be responsible for designing and releasing innovative solutions that meet customer specifications.
Responsibilities
- Create customized designs for CRAC products based on customer requirements.
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, process engineering, production, and offering teams to ensure seamless execution.
- Perform various engineering design verifications using traditional methods and CAD programs.
- Develop creative solutions to complex problems where no precedence exists.
- Review completed CAD and schematic drafting to verify design intent.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A minimum of 2-4 years of experience in an engineering field.
- A basic understanding of thermodynamics.
- A strong grasp of mechanical and electrical design principles.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic team, handling multiple tasks with ease.
- Demonstrated experience in delivering high-quality products as part of an engineering team.
- Excellent project management and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Preferred 4-8 years of experience in an HVAC-related engineering field.
- Familiarity with PLM systems, including BOM management and change order release.
- Experience working closely with associates in manufacturing engineering and production roles.
- An understanding of manufacturing limitations, formed sheet metal, and formed copper tubes.
- An understanding of electrical schematic layout and creation.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software, preferably CREO and above.
