Energy Lawyer Job Description

The Green Recruitment Company is seeking an experienced Energy Lawyer to join a leading Independent Power Producer (IPP) with operations in America and Europe.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert advice on all real estate legal matters related to business development.
  • Draft and negotiate finance and construction agreements.
  • Continuously review land-related contracts to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.
  • Develop contingency plans to prevent potential issues.
  • Advise the business team and senior management on all legal aspects, ensuring seamless operations.
  • Collaborate with external legal counsel and serve as a liaison between them and the business team.
  • Prepare and negotiate contracts related to energy generation and sale, as well as information system operations.
  • Develop and negotiate contracts with service providers (EPCs) for construction, installation, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of power plants and storage batteries.
  • Review corporate, real estate, financial, and interconnection documents with the Comisión Federal de Electricidad (CFE).
  • Ensure timely follow-up with clients to obtain necessary documents and comments for contract closure.
  • Provide regulatory advice on energy matters, particularly regarding updates.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Law is mandatory.
  • More than 5 years of experience in a law firm or energy-related company.
  • Fluent English and Spanish language skills.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills.
  • Ability to travel frequently.
