Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Manufacturing and Process Development Engineering Teams play a critical role in driving LEANPD driven new product development projects, striving for excellence in existing manufacturing technologies and methods, and implementing new manufacturing technologies to provide improved process and tolerance control.

Responsibilities
  • Optimize designs and piece parts for manufacturability, and realize sample tooling, product samples, and prototypes.
  • Design, develop, and qualify tooling and manual/automate processes for high-speed products to meet TE quality and production standards.
  • Implement new manufacturing technologies to provide improved process and tolerance control, enhancing overall manufacturing capabilities.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, and drive the adoption of innovative solutions to improve manufacturing capabilities.
  • Lead the successful transfer of new products from Engineering to Manufacturing Operations, ensuring seamless integration of processes and systems.
  • Ensure strong impact and adherence to Lean principles throughout the LEANPD driven new product development process.
  • Collaborate with Product Development Engineering, Program Management, Quality Assurance, Production, Supply Chain, and other departments to ensure alignment and effective communication.
Requirements
  • Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering Degree or equivalent.
  • 8 years of work experience on high-speed cable manufacturing, specifically cable assemblies for data centers, AI, and supercomputing.
  • Experience with applicable systems (SAP, TLM, CAD, etc.) and familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Strong experience in understanding industry document specifications like US-CAR & IPC620.
  • Strong understanding of cable making technology, stamping and plating technology, HSG molding technology, metal and plastic raw material characteristics.
  • Experience in product tolerance analysis, stability using verify data analysis the processes, such as the CPK.
  • Expertise in the product development process, able to provide DFM, SOP, PFMEA, BOP, CTAR required for each phase according to the project schedule.
  • Working knowledge of manual, semi-automatic, and automatic assembly processes.
