Job Summary

We are seeking an exceptional Software Development Engineer to join our Amazon Photos team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying photo features for current and future Alexa devices. Your expertise in clean, maintainable code and peer code reviews will be invaluable in ensuring the highest quality of our software.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop innovative photo features for Alexa devices.
  • Write high-quality, scalable code and perform thorough code reviews.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to investigate design approaches, prototype new technologies, and evaluate technical feasibility.
  • Work closely with ASR and NLU teams to model voice interactions and develop services to process voice data.
  • Launch new features in the US and international markets, ensuring seamless integration with other Alexa teams.
  • Improve Operational Excellence, including latency and scalability.
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum development to deliver high-quality software with high velocity.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of professional software development experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in designing or architecting new and existing systems.
  • Proficiency in at least one modern language, such as Java, C++, or C#, including object-oriented design.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
  • Full stack development experience, including web services.
  • Experience developing and scaling web services in a high growth environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced writing and spoken English proficiency.
