We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Superintendent to lead our manufacturing operations at Vertiv Co. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily activities of our APU (Area of Primary Use) and ensuring that our manufacturing processes are running efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities- Leadership and Management
- Directly manage Sr. supervisors, supervisors, and indirectly oversee all functions related to the APU.
- Monitor team competences and develop autonomy through training plans, follow-up, and training actions implementation.
- Operational Excellence
- Ensure working standards are respected within the APU during operations, focusing on safety, work instructions, quality, and product respect.
- Apply standards of reaction with rigor and perform escalations according to standards.
- Communication and Collaboration
- Lead daily, weekly, and monthly meetings, and organize delegation.
- Conduct annual appraisals, salary reviews, career interviews, succession planning, and provide feedback.
- Customer Satisfaction and Performance
- Be responsible for customer satisfaction.
- Be accountable for SQCDP performance and profitability (gross margin) of the APU, in terms of targets achievement and improvement.
- Equipment Optimization and Problem-Solving
- Ensure optimal use of equipment (OEE).
- Assign and check corrective actions on recurring problems with APU and Plant support departments.
- Escalation and Validation
- Escalate issues that cannot be solved at the APU level to Site level.
- Validate monthly the demonstrated capacity of the APU and communicate to SIOP/MPS.
- Commitment and Accountability
- Weekly commit on MPS.
- Respect daily the MPS contract.
- In case of daily MPS respect deviation, take necessary measures to have respected weekly MPS at the end of the week.
- Leadership and Development
- Lead daily APU War room (SQCDP).
- Lead workstation ergonomics risk analysis and elimination.
- Lead every day gemba activities with the team, as TOP 3 issues countermeasures review.
- Continuous Improvement
- Lead and review action plans to improve SQCDP performance (actual and targets).
- Be responsible for Customer Line Return analysis and solving for products from the APU in front of customers.
- Process Improvement and Deployment
- Manage the VSM deployment plan Flow of the APU, ensuring that there are Flow Transformation workshops evolutions to simplify Operations.
- Education
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Manufacturing, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
- Experience
- At a minimum of five (5) years of experience in manufacturing or engineering. Experience in Industrial, Automotive, Aerospace, Metal fabrication, or similar industries.
- Skills
- MS Office (Word, Excel).
- Desired Six Sigma Green Belt certified and exposure to Operative systems based on Toyota Production Systems.
- Knowledge of MRP/ERP system.
- Production and Processing — Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
- Mechanical — Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
- Administration and Management — Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
